half a year

Well here we are.  I've blinked and half of the year has gone by.  I just can't imagine life without you.  You are such a consuming little human being, in the best way possible.  I just want to stare at you and see your flirty little side smiles all day long.
You will most likely crawl this week or next, you keep pushing up on to your hands and knees.
You are obsessed with Evaleigh, you want to watch everything she does.
You love when I sing to you it makes you smile and stop what you are doing.
Last week you randomly started taking a paci, that's weird.  Your sister never ever took one and neither did you until now.  You love it!
You are starting to level out with your growth. You are 20 pounds and 27 inches, still big but not as shocking as before.
You adore your father, as soon as he enters the room you want all of his attention. And you get it.

one day i'll be a year

Yesterday Evaleigh and I passed part of the rainy day away by watching all of her monthly videos.  It made me so happy to see how much she enjoyed them.  She sat there through all 12 monthly videos laughed at them and announced every person who popped up on to the screen that she knew.

I knew I had to do the same for Avett.  So here it is.  The wonderful beginning to Avett Murphy's life.  I wish I had more videos of Avett with his Grammy who was with us for 3 weeks after he was born.  She was an absolute life saver and I couldn't imagine doing those 3 weeks without her.  We love you so much Grammy!

Looking back at these videos I already can't believe how much he has changed (and grown!)

Avett, you are enormous.  And adorable.  And so very happy.

one down

I just really can't believe a month passed by as quickly as it did.  Avett is such a happy addition to our family.  He is quite the record setter for weight and size.  He never even had the chance to wear newborn diapers, he went straight in to size ones at the hospital.  When he was two weeks old those were already too tight on him and John had to go buy size twos.  He skipped all of the newborn clothes we had and he is in 3 month clothes.  Those are already snugging up on him as of this week!  The fact that he spits up major after every feeding and I go through about 4 shirts everyday doesn't seem to affect his weight at all.  At his one month appointment he was 13 pounds and 9 ounces, his daddy is so proud. The pediatrician says that his growth curve isn't a curve at all, it's a straight up line.  If I move him at all when I nurse him he will growl at me, I've learned not to mess with his food.  He takes meal time very seriously.

He is starting to make little noises and is quite smiley. He seems more vocal than Evie was at this age.  He has the saddest chin quiver when he cries and when he stretches he shakes his fist at you like a little Italian guy.  He tolerates Evaleigh's hugs and kisses and violent seat swinging.  He loves the Bjorn and baths. He has a bad case of the second child syndrome.  Everyday you will find him in a pink swing, pink bibs, and his sisters hot pink cloth diaper cover.  We are building his character.

muppis

Evaleigh, you are perfect at 15 months.
We are entertained by you constantly.  You always have me smiling at something funny you are doing.  I love turning around and there you are at my feet handing me your 'puppis'.  Some days I think that is the only word you know.  You love your puppy so much.  I love how its rarely in singular form, its mostly puppies or my puppies, and then on occasion you put them together and call it 'muppis'.  That's my favorite.

I'm not sure if you really speak English.  When you talk I swear it is French that is coming out.  Especially when you really get going.  Its the most adorable and entertaining thing.

You have one curl on the back of your head that we call your duck tail.  I'm not sure why the rest of your head is failing to grow hair.  But I love your stubborn receding hairline and your single curl.

You love to give your daddy kisses first thing in the morning.  Its a big part of our morning routine.  And for whatever reason whenever we come back upstairs from breakfast and daddy is fresh out of the shower that is when you can't resist being held by him.  He loves it.

You are such an explorer.  You love being outside and would spend all day out there if I would let you.  You love carrying around little rocks and leaves and pointing to the sky when you hear birds.

You are such a cool kid.

Darling girl,

I can't believe that this is the last video before you turn one.  This first year of your life has been the absolute biggest joy of mine and your Daddy's life.  Right now you are standing in our living room watching all of your monthly videos on the big screen.
You love to stick your fingers in our mouths all of the time and you giggle when we nibble on them.  You love to dance.  You still love to nurse more than anything and I'm just fine with that, you have the rest of your life for big girl food.  You took your first steps a few weeks ago but this past week you have really started walking.  I'm so proud of you.  Your favorite activities are 'reading books' upside down and climbing the stairs like its your job.  You still love sitting still and pounding your feet on the ground.  YOU HAVE 10 TEETH, with  more on the way!!  You can say 'mama' 'dada' 'jesus' 'puppy' 'bye'.  You can clap, wave, and blow kisses.  You love to wrap your sweet little arms around mama and daddy's neck and giving us really wet open mouth kisses.

We love you.

ten

Well I am trying not to fall behind on these!
Here is month 10.

Little girl has been:

very clingy to her dada, she loves to wave 'bye-bye' to him through the glass door in the mornings
enjoying being spoiled with Christmas Reeses from her Pawpaw
maybe teething again
trying to chew on any cord in reach
ripping up little pieces of paper and trying to eat them
starting to wander in the pews in church on Sunday
sleeping through the night til 6 then going back to bed til 9/9:30
pointing at all of the new decorations that go up in the house and making sure that her Grandmommee sees every single one of them when she comes to visit
giving her mama sweet open mouth kisses
